Trains - Southfork, CO
The Railroad that was the lifeblood of the Rio Grand River Valley, running between the silver boomtown of Creede and it's southern neighbor South Fork , is defunct today with the collapse of the mining industry. The railroad crisscrosses the Rio Grand and Colorado 149 many times on it's way to Creed, but has been paved over the highway crossing guarantying the once mighty line to history. At several locations the remaining, highway locked sections of track between the South Fork and Creede one can still find remnants of the railroad's rolling stock such as Diesel Engines, Ore, Cattle, and Passenger Cars.
