Old Memorial Cemetery
This lovely old cemetery lies almost completely hidden today in a wooded area at the bottom of the hill in the small town of Burton in Geauga County in Northeastern Ohio. This cemetery contains many of the early New England, pioneer's who first came in 1798 when this vast wooded and untamed land was part of the Connecticut Reserve. Many of these also came here to claim Bounty Land Grants given Revolutionary War Veterans in payment for their service. Among these, were Caleb Fowler (1755-1822) and his family.
